Marie-Claude Johnson – Founding Partner
Marie-Claude Johnson is a co-founder and partner at HATLEY. She has more than ten years of experience in communications and strategic counsel.
After successfully launching an IT start-up as an entrepreneur, she handled the innovation file in the office of Quebec’s Minister of Economic Development, Innovation and Exportation. She was then responsible for public procurements and government services at the office of Quebec’s Minister of Finance and President of the Treasury Board. Marie-Claude has also worked as a strategic communications consultant in Washington DC with the aerospace industry.
Her professional experience and community involvement have enabled Marie-Claude to develop strong links inside the Quebec, Canadian and U.S. governments. An urban planner by training, Marie-Claude frequently participates in and helps organize fundraising events for charitable causes. She is a member of the Institut québécois d’affaires publiques and sits on the organizing committee of the Semaine nationale des institutions québécoises. Since January 2012, she has been on the board of directors of the Quebec Association of Lobbyists.
At HATLEY, Marie-Claude is responsible for government and public relations for several private companies in the industrial, energy and natural resources sectors. Her practice involves managing regulatory and legislative issues and consulting in corporate communications.

Adam Daifallah – Founding Partner
Adam Daifallah is a co-founder and partner at HATLEY. With more than 15 years of experience in journalism, politics and law, Adam is a skilled communicator who interacts with key decision-makers in Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, Quebec City and Washington, D.C.
Before joining HATLEY, Adam practiced law at the Montreal office of Norton Rose (then Ogilvy Renault). Previously, he sat on the editorial board of the National Post and was Washington correspondent of The New York Sun. He is co-author of two books on Canadian politics.
In addition to his responsibilities at HATLEY, Adam is an instructor at McGill University’s Department of North American Studies, a fellow of the Montreal Economic Institute and a frequent commentator on public affairs in newspapers, on radio and on television.
In the voluntary sector, Adam is a member of the Circle of Young Ambassadors of the Montreal Cancer Institute, on the Communications Committee of Golf Canada (formerly the Royal Canadian Golf Association), an Ambassador of AudaCité Montréal (a group advocating a world-class replacement for Montreal’s Champlain Bridge), a board member of Invest Crowdfund Québec, and a co-founder and director of the Saint-Lawrence Consortium, a private club for young business leaders.
Adam is a law graduate from Université Laval, has a BA (honours) in history and political studies from Queen’s University and was a Sauvé Scholar at McGill University. He is a member of the Quebec Bar.

Marilyn Cantin – Consultant and director of communications
Marilyn Cantin has been a HATLEY consultant since 2011. She has a bachelors degree in public communication from Université Laval (2010).
Marilyn is responsible for communications at HATLEY and assists the firm’s clients with research and analysis. She completes the daily press review for the Quebec City office and monitors the media for items of interest to clients and for business development. She is HATLEY’s in-house language expert, and acts as the coordinator between the Montreal and Quebec City offices, the resource person for the firm’s partners and the Advisory Council.
Marilyn has been involved in politics since 2007 and has worked on several provincial and federal election campaigns. Her curiosity and critical thinking ability are her best assets and serve her well in her strategic role with the HATLEY team.

Alexis Landreville – Senior Consultant
Alexis Landreville has been a consultant at HATLEY since July 2011. With previous experience in attracting foreign direct investment (FDI), business development and strategy consulting, Alexis has been a resourceful addition to the team.
Before joining HATLEY, Alexis worked for Investissement Quebec at the Quebec government office in New York where he participated in the positioning of Quebec as an investment destination for American companies. During his five years in New York City, Alexis attended St. John’s University on a full athletic scholarship where he earned a Bachelor of Science (cum laude) in Business Management and worked on several strategy consulting mandates for New York-based multinationals.
Born in Montreal, Alexis was a competitive fencer until 2010, during which time he represented Canada at four World Championships and won two World Cup silver medals. Alexis has keen interest for Canada/Quebec–U.S. trade relations, government relations, energy and emerging technologies.
