Sylvie Godin has a long history of managing sensitive issues, strategic advice, government relations and institutional communication. She was Vice-President of the Commission des droits de la personne et des droits de la jeunesse before working as Executive Director of the Association des centres jeunesse du Québec until 2014. Ms. Godin has also held management positions with major companies including Canadian National, Bell Canada and CIBC.
Her political experience on the provincial scene in various ministerial offices and as Director of Communications in the Office of the Premier of Quebec have been significant in her rich professional experience. A lawyer by training, Ms. Godin is a graduate of the University of Ottawa’s Faculty of Law and has practiced law in Joliette and Montreal.
At the Canadian level, she has been active with the Canadian Council of Provincial Child and Youth Advocates, first as a member and then as Vice-President. Ms. Godin has also served on the boards of directors of several cultural institutions in the city, including Place des Arts and Théâtre d’Aujourd’hui, as well as the Douglas Hospital Foundation. She is a member of the Board of Directors of Centennial Academy.
